Ar.Mohammad Sazzad Hossain, Assoc Prof, Dept of ARCH, MIST appointed member of the Heritage and Cultural Identity Work Programme of UIA and nominated Country Representative of the AHPG

  Ar.Mohammad Sazzad Hossain, Associate professor, Department of Architecture, MIST has been appointed as the member of the International Union of Architects (UIA) Work Program – ‘Heritage and Cultural Identity’. The UIA is an international non-governmental organization recognized by UNESCO as the only architectural union operating at an international level. The UIA was founded in Lausanne, Switzerland on June 28th 1948 to unite the architects of the world through a federation of their national organizations. Presently, UIA encompasses the key professional organizations and architects in 115 countries and territories worldwide. The UIA Heritage & Cultural Identity Work Program promotes methods for the conservation of architectural heritage and works to protect existing and future heritage and cultural sites from natural disasters. The Programme engages in questions of urban and sustainable development, rehabilitation, renovation and conservation of existing sites, striving to establish high international standards for good practice through research and expert counsel. However, Assoc. Prof. Mohammad Sazzad Hossain, has also been nominated as the Country Representative of the ARCASIA Heritage Preservation Group (AHPG).
